Test Pilot Cocktail \u2013 Kurzanleitung<\/strong><\/p>\n

Das brauchst du:
\n– 45 ml heller Rum
\n– 15 ml Dunkler Rum
\n– 15 ml Cointreau oder Triple Sec
\n– 15 ml Limettensaft (frisch gepresst)
\n– 7,5 ml Falernum
\n– 2 Dashes Angostura Bitter
\n– 1 Spitz Zimtsirup oder Pimento Dram (Allspice Lik\u00f6r)<\/p>\n

So mixt du\u2019s:
\n1. Alle Zutaten mit Eis in einen Shaker geben.
\n2. Kr\u00e4ftig shaken.
\n3. In ein gek\u00fchltes Glas (idealerweise Tiki-Mug) mit Crushed Eis abseihen.
\n4. Mit einer Limettenscheibe und ggf. einer Zimtstange garnieren.<\/p>\n

Tipps und Tricks f\u00fcr den Test Pilot<\/strong><\/p>\n

Schon mal Falernum benutzt? Das ist eine karibische Zutat, die nicht in jeder Hausbar rumsteht, aber der absolute Gamechanger f\u00fcr diesen Cocktail ist. Falernum ist eine leicht w\u00fcrzige und s\u00fc\u00dfliche Zutat, die Noten von Mandeln, Limetten und Nelken mitbringt. Es gibt sie in alkoholischer und nicht-alkoholischer Form. Wenn du sie nicht zur Hand hast, ist es eines dieser Dinge, die sich lohnen, in der Bar zu haben \u2013 du wirst es bei anderen Tiki-Drinks wiederfinden, keine Sorge!<\/p>\n

Cointreau oder Triple Sec? Zugegeben, hier geht\u2019s um Nuancen. Beide sind Orangenlik\u00f6re, aber Cointreau ist etwas komplexer und balanciert den Cocktail auf subtile Weise, w\u00e4hrend du bei Triple Sec meistens die fruchtige S\u00fc\u00dfe mehr sp\u00fcrst. Wenn du das Maximum herausholen willst: Cointreau. Wenn es gerade nicht in der N\u00e4he ist \u2013 kein Drama, Triple Sec reicht.<\/p>\n

Dann gibt\u2019s noch die ewige Frage: Mit oder ohne Zimtsirup? Manche Rezepte variieren da, aber ich finde, dieser \u201ew\u00e4rmende“ Hauch von Zimt passt perfekt zum ansonsten recht frischen Gesamtbild des Cocktails. Das ist bemerkt: Weniger ist hier tats\u00e4chlich mehr! Ein Spitz oder auch 5 ml k\u00f6nnen schon den Unterschied machen, ohne dass du pl\u00f6tzlich das Gef\u00fchl hast, du trinkst einen Zimtlatte.<\/p>\n

Eis ist auch wichtig. Kein gro\u00dfer Block Eisw\u00fcrfel, bitte \u2013 das Crushed Eis gibt nicht nur was f\u00fcr die Optik her (ganz ehrlich, welcher Tiki-Drink sieht ohne zerhacktes Eis authentisch aus?), sondern bringt auch geschmeidig die richtige K\u00e4lte in den Drink, w\u00e4hrend es sich langsam vermischt. Gerade wenn du in warmen Umgebungen bist, sorgt das daf\u00fcr, dass der Cocktail nicht so schnell \u201everw\u00e4ssert\u201c.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr diejenigen unter uns mit etwas herausfordernden Limettens\u00e4ften \u2013 ich wei\u00df, nicht jedes Mal ist der Limettensaft optimal frisch und s\u00e4urem\u00e4\u00dfig \u201eon point\u201c \u2013 streichelt ein wenig Zuckersirup das Gleichgewicht wieder glatt. Aber bitte nur im Notfall einsetzen!<\/p>\n

Herkunft des Test Pilot und seine \u201eVerwandtschaft\u201c<\/strong><\/p>\n

Der \u201eTest Pilot\u201c ist quasi Historie in einem Glas. Erfunden wurde er von Donn Beach (der auch als Don the Beachcomber bekannt war) in den 1940er Jahren. Die Tiki-Kultur als Barph\u00e4nomen war gerade in vollem Schwung, und Beach war einer der Pioniere \u2013 sein Barstil verschmolz karibische, pazifische und exotische Einfl\u00fcsse zu tropischen Cocktails, die erstaunlich komplex waren. Der Test Pilot spiegelt genau diese denkbar gewagte Mischung wider: balanciert, frisch, exotisch und durch seinen Rum (warum nur einen, wenn man zwei haben kann?) sch\u00f6n intensiv.<\/p>\n

Der Name \u201eTest Pilot\u201c hat vermutlich mit der Zeit zu tun, in der er entstand \u2013 Flieger und Testpiloten hatten damals kulturell fast einen Status wie Rockstars. Die Symbolik passte also: Ein aufregendes Getr\u00e4nk f\u00fcr Menschen, die immer an der Grenzen des M\u00f6glichen lebten \u2013 das k\u00f6nnte auch ein Testpilot gewesen sein, nicht?<\/p>\n

Verwandte Drinks wie der \u201eJet Pilot“ (du merkst das Aviation-Thema, oder?) sind gewisse Weiterentwicklungen des Originals. Auch der \u201eMai Tai\u201c und der \u201eZombie\u201c haben spirituell viel vom Test Pilot \u00fcbernommen; ebenfalls von Donn Beach, aber jeder mit einer eigenen Art, die exotischen Aromen zu kombinieren und dabei den Rum als Protagonisten zu nutzen.<\/p>\n
