Detailierte Tipps f\u00fcr den \u201eGodmother\u201c Cocktail<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Jetzt, da du die Essenz des Rezepts kennst, lass uns ein bisschen tiefer eintauchen. Einerseits ist der \u201eGodmother\u201c erstaunlich simpel \u2013 nur zwei Zutaten. Aber wie so oft liegt die Magie im Detail. Nichts ist schlimmer als ein Cocktail aus generischem Wodka und einem \u00fcbereifrig s\u00fc\u00dfen Amaretto. Lass uns also das Maximale daraus herausholen:<\/p>\n

Die Wahl des Wodkas:<\/strong>
\nWodka ist bekanntlich ein relativ neutraler „Base Spirit“. Gerade bei einem Cocktail wie dem Godmother, wo der Wodka das Fundament bildet, lohnt es sich, in einen etwas hochwertigeren Wodka zu investieren. Es muss nicht \u00fcbertrieben teuer sein, aber ein Wodka mit einer weichen, klaren Textur ist definitiv zu bevorzugen. Ich pers\u00f6nlich bevorzuge Marken, die nicht zu viele Mineralien oder Nebennoten aufweisen \u2013 Think \u201epur\u201c und \u201eclean\u201c.<\/p>\n

Amaretto – der Stern am Himmel:<\/strong>
\nWechseln wir zur komplexeren Zutat, dem Amaretto. Hier gibt es viele Varianten, von industriellen Massenprodukten bis hin zu handwerklich hergestellten Lik\u00f6ren. Ein guter Amaretto \u2013 wie der aus Saronno (ja, das<\/em> Saronno) \u2013 sollte intensiv nach Mandeln und etwas Marzipan duften und einen ausgewogenen Mix aus S\u00fc\u00dfe und Bitterkeit pr\u00e4sentieren. Zu s\u00fc\u00df wird deinen Cocktail erdr\u00fccken, zu bitter kann eine seltsame Disharmonie mit dem neutralen Wodka ergeben.<\/p>\n

Eis und Mixen:<\/strong>
\nJa, Eis \u2013 klingt banal, aber wenn du schon gute Zutaten verwendest, solltest du dir hier keinen Schnitzer erlauben. Verwende frisches, m\u00f6glichst festes Eis. Fl\u00fcssiges Eiswasser hat in deinem Glas nichts verloren. Dein Ziel ist es, den Drink zu k\u00fchlen, ohne ihn zu stark zu verd\u00fcnnen, was perfekt gelingt, wenn du gro\u00dfe Eisw\u00fcrfel nutzt.<\/p>\n

Der richtige Tumbler:<\/strong>
\nOkay, ich wei\u00df, es scheint pingelig, aber EINES muss gesagt sein: Der \u201eGodmother\u201c geh\u00f6rt in einen Tumbler<\/em>. Punkt. Kein Highball und auch keine bauchigen Gl\u00e4ser. Der \u201eGodmother\u201c ist ein klassischer After-Dinner-Cocktail und will ernst genommen werden. Und der Tumbler gibt dir genau die Pr\u00e4senz, die ein Drink mit so einer klaren Struktur verlangt.<\/p>\n

Feinschliff mit Garnitur:<\/strong>
\nObwohl die klassische Variante des \u201eGodmother\u201c keine ausgefallene Garnitur ben\u00f6tigt, kannst du mit einer Zitronenzeste einen erfrischenden Kontrast zur S\u00fc\u00dfe des Amarettos setzen, was dem Drink ein wenig mehr Dimension gibt. Oder wenn du es ein wenig verspielter magst: Eine Cocktailkirsche. Ist zwar optisch nett, muss aber nicht sein.<\/p>\n

Geschichte und verwandte Cocktails<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Der \u201eGodmother\u201c ist ein enger Verwandter des ber\u00fchmten Godfather<\/em>-Cocktails \u2013 jedoch ersetzt er den mutigen Scotch durch weichen, sanften Wodka. Die urspr\u00fcngliche Fassung, der Godfather<\/em>, erschien in den sp\u00e4ten 1970er Jahren und war ganz das, was man sich in einem Mafia-Epos wie \u201eDer Pate\u201c vorstellen k\u00f6nnte: Stark, maskulin und mit dem bitters\u00fc\u00dfen Biss von Amaretto. Wer diesen Drink einmal gekostet hat, wird verstehen, warum der \u201eGodfather\u201c eine besondere Assoziation mit ebenjenem unsterblichen Filmklassiker tr\u00e4gt.<\/p>\n

Irgendwann in den 80ern entstand der \u201eGodmother\u201c, m\u00f6glicherweise als Reaktion auf die steigende Popularit\u00e4t von Wodka in jenen Jahren. Die genaue Geburtsstunde des Drinks ist nicht dokumentiert, aber es ist wahrscheinlich, dass Barkeeper einfach den Wunsch hatten, eine leichtere, \u201egelenkigere\u201c Alternative zum Scotch-lastigen \u201eGodfather\u201c zu bieten \u2013 eine, die auch diejenigen ansprechen w\u00fcrde, die einen sanften, s\u00fcfferlichen Drink zu sch\u00e4tzen wissen. Clemens, ein Barkeeper, den ich mal in einer kleinen Bar in Florenz getroffen habe, schwor darauf, dass der \u201eGodmother\u201c genau jener Drink sei, den man seiner \u201eSchwiegermama\u201c serviert.<\/p>\n

Ein weiteres sehr \u00e4hnliches Getr\u00e4nk ist der \u201eFrench Connection\u201c, der Cognac anstelle von Wodka verwendet, w\u00e4hrend immer noch Amaretto die zweite Zutat ist. \u00c4hnlich simpel, aber der Wechsel des Basisspiritus ver\u00e4ndert das gesamte Profil.<\/p>\n
