      Wie der Name schon vermuten l\u00e4sst, ist der Corpse Reviver \u2013 urspr\u00fcnglich und besonders die Version No. 1 \u2013 ein Cocktail, der entwickelt wurde, um vor allem eines zu tun: Die Lebenden wiederzuerwecken! Oder sagen wir lieber: die nach einer langen Nacht ziemlich lebendig auszusehen lassen, wenn der Kopf ein wenig nachh\u00e4ngt. Ab den 1930er Jahren, so sagt man, waren diese Art Cocktails eine \u00fcbliche Wahl, um sich am Morgen nach einer durchzechten Nacht schnell wieder auf die Beine zu bringen. Im Grunde tranken die Leute einen Corpse Reviver, um „den Kater zu vertreiben“. Aber sei vorsichtig, wie Harry Craddock in seinem ber\u00fchmten Cocktailbuch von 1930, dem „Savoy Cocktail Book“, bereits warnte: „Vier dieser Drinks genossen in schneller Folge rufen den gleich gegenteiligen Effekt hervor.“<\/p>\n

      Witzigerweise gibt es \u2013 wie oben angeteasert \u2013 tats\u00e4chlich zwei bekannte Versionen des Cocktails: No. 1 und No. 2. Der Corpse Reviver No. 1 basiert eher auf Brandy und ist ein ernsterer, schwerer Drink, der gerne in den Wintermonaten genossen wird. Der No. 2 in seiner frischen und leichten Art hat sich jedoch als zeitloser Klassiker etabliert. Er ist etwas eleganter und vielschichtiger.<\/p>\n

      Was verwandte Cocktails betrifft: Ein entfernter Cousin des Corpse Revivers No. 2 ist definitiv der „Last Word“, der ebenfalls auf Gin basiert und \u00e4hnlich komplexe Aromen hat.
