Chicago Cocktail \u2013 Schnell und einfach<\/h3>\n

Zutaten:<\/strong>
\n– 4 cl Brandy
\n– 2 cl Triple Sec (bzw. Cointreau)
\n– Ein Spritzer Angostura Bitter
\n– 1 cl frischer Zitronensaft
\n– Gut gek\u00fchlter trockener Sekt zum Auff\u00fcllen<\/p>\n

Zubereitung:<\/strong>
\n1. Brandy, Triple Sec, Zitronensaft und Angostura in einen Shaker mit Eis geben.
\n2. Kr\u00e4ftig shaken und in ein gek\u00fchltes Cocktailglas abseihen.
\n3. Mit trockenem Sekt auff\u00fcllen.
\n4. Optional mit einer Zitronenzeste oder Cocktailkirsche garnieren.<\/p>\n

Falls du den Chicago Cocktail zum ersten Mal machst, ein paar kleine Hinweise f\u00fcr die beste Balance. Achte darauf, dass der Sekt gut gek\u00fchlt ist, sonst kriegst du ein Temperaturproblem und der Drink wird lasch \u2014 und keiner mag einen lauwarmen Cocktail, nicht wahr? Ein trockener Sekt funktioniert besser als etwas S\u00fc\u00dferes, weil Triple Sec schon eine gewisse S\u00fc\u00dfe mitbringt.<\/p>\n

Was das Shaken angeht: Hier solltest du nicht z\u00f6gerlich sein. Du m\u00f6chtest alle Zutaten ordentlich durchchillen (was bei der S\u00fc\u00dfe durch den Triple Sec ungemein hilft) und gute Aromen-Integration erreichen. Also, beim Sch\u00fctteln ruhig Gas geben, als w\u00fcrdest du versuchen, einen besonders hartn\u00e4ckigen Fehler in einem Coding-Projekt zu fixen.<\/p>\n

Angostura Bitter ist eine Zutat, die nicht \u00fcberm\u00e4chtig werden darf, aber gerade diese Bitterkeit sorgt f\u00fcr das n\u00f6tige Gleichgewicht. Es ist fast so, als w\u00fcrdest du der S\u00fc\u00dfe des Brandy und Triple Sec einen Strich durch die Rechnung machen \u2014 aber auf diese gute Art, bei der beide Seiten st\u00e4rker hervortreten.<\/p>\n

Aber wenn’s jemand unbedingt s\u00fc\u00dfer mag, lass ihn\/sie machen!<\/p>\n

Eine letzte Anmerkung: Garnitur wie Cocktailkirschen oder Zitronenzesten kann nat\u00fcrlich den optischen Eindruck verbessern. Ich genehmige mir manchmal beides \u2014 ein wenig Overkill, ja, aber das Auge trinkt schlie\u00dflich auch mit, oder?<\/p>\n

Herkunft und Background \u2013 F\u00fcr die Geschichtsinteressierten<\/h3>\n

Nun, der Chicago Cocktail hat weder mit Deep-Dish-Pizza noch mit Al Capone zu tun, auch wenn der Name vielleicht anderes vermuten l\u00e4sst. Tats\u00e4chlich stammte das Rezept vermutlich aus den sp\u00e4ten 1890er Jahren oder fr\u00fchen 1900er Jahren, wahrscheinlich aus den eleganten Trinksalons jener Zeit. Der Drink erlangte jedoch wirklich erst in den 1930er Jahren Bekanntheit. Es ist faszinierend zu sehen, wie dieser Cocktail auf den klassischen Zutaten von Brandy und Triple Sec aufbaut, w\u00e4hrend der Sekt das Ganze leicht und feierlich macht. Die Balance von S\u00fc\u00dfe, S\u00e4ure und herber Komplexit\u00e4t bringt den Chicago Cocktail in die N\u00e4he anderer Cocktails wie dem Sidecar<\/strong>, der ebenfalls auf Brandy und Triple Sec setzt, aber statt Sekt eben Zitronensaft f\u00fcr den Frischekick nutzt.<\/p>\n

Es k\u00f6nnte durchaus sein, dass der Name \u201eChicago\u201c weniger mit der tats\u00e4chlichen Stadt zu tun hat und mehr mit der Art von \u201eBusiness und Vergn\u00fcgen\u201c-Mentalit\u00e4t, die man der Stadt damals nachsagte – eine Stadt, die Innovationen liebte und sich st\u00e4ndig neu erfindet. Vielleicht eine Art metaphorisches Nicken an den Glamour, der aber immer irgendwie \u201eon the edge\u201c bleibt.<\/p>\n

Soweit ich das sehe, gibt es momentan keine echte historische Kl\u00e4rung, warum genau dieser Cocktail so hei\u00dft, wie er hei\u00dft. Es k\u00f6nnte einfach jemand auf einer Cocktailkarte einmal gut geklungen haben \u2013 und dann blieb es h\u00e4ngen.<\/p>\n
