    Jetzt, wo wir die schn\u00f6rkellosen Fakten haben, lass uns ein wenig in die Tiefe tauchen. Der „20th Century“ lebt von einer ziemlich delikaten Balance. Du hast hier den sauberen, knackigen Charakter des Gins, der durch die Blumigkeit des Lillet Blanc ein wenig gez\u00e4hmt wird. Die Cr\u00e8me de Cacao sorgt f\u00fcr die gewisse Schokoladennote, die, wenn sie gut integriert wird, keinesfalls zu s\u00fc\u00df wirkt, sondern eher f\u00fcr eine hautnahe Cremigkeit sorgt.<\/p>\n

      Der „20th Century“ Cocktail stammt nicht etwa aus den sp\u00e4ten 1900er Jahren, sondern wurde 1937 von C.A. Tuck, einem britischen Bahnreisenden, in Harry Craddocks ber\u00fchmtem „Savoy Cocktail Book“ zum ersten Mal niedergeschrieben. Er wurde, wie der Name vermuten l\u00e4sst, als eine Hommage an die moderne Welt (nicht zuletzt das 20th Century Limited, ein luxuri\u00f6ser Expresszug zwischen New York und Chicago) entwickelt. Es geht aber hier keinesfalls um Geschwindigkeit: Die Qualit\u00e4t dieses Cocktails liegt in der kunstvollen Balance der Zutaten \u2013 wie ein gut abgestimmtes System.<\/p>\n

      Der „20th Century“ ist eine gelungene Mischung aus einem klassischen Sour (wegen des Zitronensafts) und einer leichten Dessert-Note (Cr\u00e8me de Cacao), was ihn von vielen anderen Drinks aus seiner Zeit unterscheidet. Normalerweise tendierten Cocktails entweder stark in die s\u00fc\u00dfe oder saure Richtung, aber dieser hier schafft es, in der Mitte zu bleiben.<\/p>\n
